Landfall is a gated luxury community in eastern New Hanover County. Only miles from Wrightsville Beach and minutes from Midtown Wilmington, Landfall has great access to the rest of the community. Landfall has a country club, complete with four golf courses.
History: Landfall is formerly the estate of Pembroke Jones (1858-1919), a 19th century financier. Jones' heirs eventually came up with the concept for the community of Landfall, and the first clubhouse opened in 1989.
Fun Fact: The temple of love, which still stands, is one of the few original structures from Jones' estate. The architect was Jones' son in law, John Russell Pope, who would later design the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC.
